Cold matcha at home
Did you know you can make cold matcha easily with ice and/or cold water and your normal matcha supplies? Here are two methods for you to enjoy matcha throughout the rest of summer.

 
Try this matcha: Horai-no-mukashi
 

Try this matcha: Horai-no-mukashi
With little bitterness, this variety tastes smooth when made cold. Its bright forest-green color looks beautiful served in a glass with ice.

Method #1 Just add ice!
- Whisk your matcha as you normally would, with hot water in a bowl. We recommend using 60 ml of water for 2 grams of sifted matcha powder.
- After you finish whisking, simply add one or two large ice cubes to the bowl. Or pour the matcha into a glass, over ice.
- This method is the best for enjoying the airy, smooth texture of hot matcha, at a cool temperature.

Method #2 Cold-whisked matcha

- This method produces a sweeter flavor, with less creaminess. Recommended for those who like their matcha straight.
